Career

His musical career began in 2006, when he became member of the pop boy band Streetwize. After two years he shown up on Euronsong 2008 Irish qualifications where he ended up in final. During 2009 he joined Irish band Industry. After band disbanded in 2010, he dropped musical career, and resumed his growing cooking career.

Donal began cooking career back in 2007 when he created a blog named “Good Mood Food”. Blog become popular and eventually became online cookbook. This landed him many appearances on TV shows so as live demonstrations on a few foods related live events.

In 2011 he created food TV show called “Kitchen Hero” which aired on RTE One. Same year he released his first written cook book. In 2012 he created show “Good Food” which still airs on British UKTV network. Same year he was presenter and the judge on reality TV show Junio MasterChef which aired on BBC.

In 2013 he was guest on Jamie Oliver’s YouTube channel. Due the enormous success of the web episode he decided to create his own YouTube channel. His YouTube channel become uber popular, currently he counts almost 850.000 subscribers.

His career continued to go upward. In 2015 he created and presented new TV show “Follow Donal” which aired on Food Channel. He also appeared couple of times in the Mitt kök TV show on the Swedish TV4 channel.

Currently he regularly guests on “Saturday Kitchen” TV show on BBC One and manage his YouTube channel.

Donal Skehan grow up in Dublin. He went to Sutton Park School and later on continued to study media at Dublin Business School.

In 2015 he married Sofie Larrson (February 3, 1980), Swedish actress. During 2016 couple moved to Los Angeles, USA. In 2018 couple got their first child, a son named Noah Ziggy Skehan.
