Before she became a famous YouTube personality, Kandee worked as a makeup artist. One of her first jobs was in VH1’s show „I Love the 80’s“. She also worked on movies, TV shows, and celebrity events. Kandee did wardrobe styling for commercials and TV shows, such as „The Sierra“, „Skin Wars: Naked Truth“, and „Ultimate Halloween Costume Party“.

She created her blog in 2008 and started posting stories about small incidents in her daily life. After that, Kandee Johnson uploaded posts about makeup, skincare, beauty, style, and fashion.

On January 3, 2009, she launched her YouTube channel and 13 days later she uploaded a video titled „How To Clean Make-Up Brushes“. Kandee was one of the YouTube pioneers of beauty and fashion. Since she had pretty good feedback from her subscribers, she continued posting videos about beauty, care, and fashion.

In one video she admitted that she first get married when she was 17 years old. Unfortunately, it didn`t last, but she became the mother of a boy named Jordan Sanniks. Later she married again and gave birth to her son Blake and a daughter Alani. Her youngest daughter is called Elyse Kakani.
