Since he has 4.3 million followers on Instagram and other social profiles in which he promotes makeup and cosmetics brands, and also runs his own company, Manny`s earnings as of 2019 are about $1.1 million.

Biography

Before he began his YouTube career, Manuel planned to attend medical school. He wanted to become a plastic surgeon, but after he earned his Bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University, he got a job at Sephora. At a time he launched his channel, Manuel worked in the MAC Cosmetics store.

He became interested in makeup after watching his mother doing her makeup. He launched his YouTube channel named „Manny MUA“ in July 2014. Manny posted his first video titled “Everyday foundation routine” on July 16, 2014.

He introduced himself as a boy beauty vlogger, and in the description section of his channel, he stated that he believes makeup is genderless, and that men can wear makeup too. Manny posted makeup tutorials, cosmetics product reviews, beauty tips, makeup first impressions, challenges e.t.c.

His charisma, spontaneity, and sincerity quickly attracted the attention of many YouTube users from all around the world. Manny collaborated with other “Beauty YouTubers”, such as Jeffree Star, Rosanna Pansino, Patric Starrr, Laura Lee, Jaclyn Hill, and many others.

He also collaborated with Makeup Geek on an eye-shadow palette, Jeffree Star Cosmetics on two highlighters and two lipsticks and Ofra Cosmetics on lip products. In 2017, Many were announced as brand ambassador for Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Mascara. Gutierrez became the first male brand ambassador for Maybelline.

Later that year he was the only male to make People magazines annual „Most Beautiful“ list. In 2018, Forbes magazine put him on the list „30 under 30“ in the Arts and Style category. The same year he appeared in season three of „Escape the Night“ as the Record Producer.

Manny started his makeup line called „Lunar Beauty“. In 2018 he launched eyeshadow palette called „Life`s a Drag“. On the official brand web site, he wrote that it`s intended to women, men and everyone in between.

Manuel Gutierrez grew up with his parents and two younger brothers, in a household of „liberal Mormons“. In one video he admitted he grew up in church and that it was very hard to tell his parents that he is gay.

At first, they sent him to counseling to “try to reverse the effects of being gay.” After half of the year, Manny knew it wasn’t working, and he became depressed. His parents told him they wanted him to be happy and paused counseling. Though he has been on the YouTube scene for many years, Manny never reveals the details of his love life.
